Dessert was my Mom\u2019s N.Y. Cheesecake, faithfully duplicated by my wife Mieko  (aka \u201cThe Real Boss\u201d).\r\n<\/p>\r\n<p>\r\nOur reputation for serving \u201cThe Real Thing\u201d spread through the expat community and beyond and in 1990 we opened Papa Jon\u2019s our first cheesecake specialty caf\u00e9 also in Kyoto.  Over the years we have added dozens of cheesecake flavors rotating them according to season and our baker\u2019s whims. We also have a Cake of the Month Special.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<p>\r\nWhen you are in the neighborhood visit Papa Jon\u2019s for a cup and a slice of New York.
